Sybase

  Relational Database Server

Sybase is a database server that is probably best known as providing the historical base for Microsoft's SQL Server in the early 90s. Sybase and SQL Server have some common heritage in their Transact-SQL (T-SQL) language, but the products have diverged greatly since SQL Server was rewritten from the Sybase legacy code.

We've only come across Sybase in one project so far, which involved refactoring a legacy web application and migrating to PostgreSQL.
