Advertising Management System
OpenX is an open source advertising server written in PHP and using MySQL or PostgreSQL as a data store. It has a long heritage in the open source community, starting as the phpAdsNew project in 1998 which was itself a fork from an earlier project called phpAds. phpAdsNew eventually was rebranded as OpenAds, and most recently in 2007 as OpenX. There is now a commercial OpenX entity that provides support for enterprise versions and more advanced features.
We run several OpenX servers on behalf of our clients, and recommend it as an advertising solution based on our past experience with commercial and proprietary ad systems.
